Introduction to this blog

Welcome to my Literature blog. 

Why have I started this blog? 

In a word, Cavendish. 

Margaret Cavendish wrote philosophical poetry, plays, novels amongst other works, which has whet my appetite to branch out into literature in the broadest sense of the word, ranging from literary criticism; philosophy of literature (which I did a great deal of in my Aesthetics specialisation optional module on my Philosophy degree); creative writing to discussing a range of literary genres eg poetry, plays, novels, short stories, fairy stories, myths and legends. In addition to English Literature, I'd also like to explore literature from a variety of countries, cultures, written in various ancient and modern languages.
